By bringing together Ecocert ICO and Nature’s International Certification Services (NICS), Ecocert USA has more than 30 years of experience implementing and promoting sustainable practices through certification, consulting, and training services.
Committed to organic farming since its inception, Ecocert USA now offers certification in many other sectors including cosmetics, social and economic practices, and more.
Ecocert USA, part of the Ecocert group, has two offices and over 50 employees total to serve our customers.

Working together for a sustainable world
The world is changing and so is the awareness of our impact on the planet. At this very moment, biodiversity preservation, climate change mitigation, equitable resource distribution, and environmental justice are major priorities for our society. Now more than ever, we are convinced of the need to improve our models and practices to meet this demand.
The challenge is daunting, but we are convinced that everyone has a role to play if we are to make positive change. For our part, we start with the path of certification. In seeking to promote sustainable models, we continue the principles advocated by organic farming. Through certification as well as training and consulting we help each client to analyze, strengthen and transform their practices.
We are proud to have become, on the strength of our deep convictions, a major player in organic farming. All of our services are aimed at promoting and propogating more environmentally and socially responsible practices throughout the world.

The headquarters of ECOCERT, a positive energy building!
Located in the region of Toulouse in the south of France, our flagship eco-building is the perfect symbol of our commitment. Built from natural and local materials like wood and straw, it also produces more eletric power than it consumes...in other words, our building has positive energy!

The organic farming movement: our pioneering spirit
Committed with consumers, doctors and teachers to defend a healthier and more environmentally friendly agricultural system, a team of engineers gets involved in the drafting of French and European regulations- A visionary approach that will contribute to the growth of organic farming.
1991
Creation of Ecocert: materialisation of an idea
The movement is launched... it is now a question of moving forward. In order to give it a larger scope, this same group creates Ecocert in 1991.
1994
First international subsidiary
The commitments undertaken by Ecocert transcend borders. In order to strengthen them, our outreach is extended to other countries.
2011
Ecocert enters the US Market
Ecocert merges with Indiana Certified Organic (ICO) in Indianapolis, Indiana to become Ecocert ICO.
2019
Ecocert expands in the US
Acquiring Nature's International Certification Services (NICS), Ecocert opens its second US office in Viroqua, Wisconsin and becomes the 4th largest certifier in the United States.
