What is NATIVA certification for?

NATIVA is a certification and traceability programme designed to ensure the responsible sourcing and processing of wool fibres. The standard provides full chain of custody certification, from certified farms through textile processing and manufacturing to the finished product, allowing brands to demonstrate the responsible origin of their wool products.

Key guarantees of NATIVA certification

Natural fiber label NATIVA guarantees:

  • Full traceability throughout the supply chain through chain of custody certification and supporting documentation (Scope Certificates, Transaction Certificates and traceability records).
  • Wool sourced from certified farms implementing responsible animal welfare, land management and ethical farming practices.
  • Environmental management practices promoting the sustainable use of natural resources throughout the production chain.
  • Respect for workers' rights, health and safety, and ethical working conditions across certified facilities.
  • Independent third-party verification of compliance at each stage of the supply chain.
  • Blockchain-enabled traceability allowing brands and consumers to verify the complete journey of certified wool products, from farm to finished garment.
How can you display the NATIVA label on your products?

Only products manufactured through a fully certified supply chain may carry the NATIVA claim or logo.

Every operator involved in the certified value chain must hold a valid NATIVA certification covering its activities. Product claims and labelling must comply with the NATIVA certification programme requirements and be approved by the certification body before use. Certified products remain fully traceable through Transaction Certificates and Chain of Custody documentation.

What are the composition requirements for NATIVA products?

The certification requires:
  • Certified NATIVA wool to remain fully identifiable and traceable throughout processing.
  • Physical segregation or equivalent traceability controls to preserve the integrity of certified materials.
  • Complete Chain of Custody documentation for all certified transactions.
  • Accurate product declarations reflecting the certified wool content and applicable certification requirements.
