The December 11, 2020, the Canadian General Standards Board published the Canadian Organic Standards (COS)- Organic Production Systems:
- General Principles and management standards - CAN/CGSB-32.310-2020
- Permitted Substances Lists - CAN/CGSB-32.311-2020.
ECOCERT has created training modules to provide an overview of the change of the revised standards. Click here to consult this module.
Certified operators have one year to comply with the revised clauses of the 2020 Canadian Organic Standards.
The Organic Federation of Canada (OFC) has prepared documents presenting the 2015 and 2020 standards side-by-side with the 2020 modifications highlighted. Click here to access the 2015-2020 comparisons!
The OFC has also published a series of articles informing the industry of the main changes to the standards.
The Final Q&As issued by the Standards Interpretation Committee have been updated to comply with the 2020 Canadian Organic Standards.
