This partnership is made all the more relevant by the close collaboration with Vivienne Tang, a renowned expert in the fields of well-being and travel. Founder of Destination Deluxe and with over 21 years' experience in the sector, Vivienne has established herself as a key reference when it comes to selecting the best Spas and Hotels around the world.
Together, we selected the finalists for the "Eco-Spa of the Year" category, 14 nominees from countries such as Malaysia, Australia, Cambodia, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, the Maldives, South Africa, Indonesia, and many others. As a member of the jury, Ecocert brings its expertise in assessing best sustainability practices, offering finalists a personalised diagnosis of their establishment. Ecocert is highlighting the new "Sustainable Wellbeing Center" certification and exploring its potential application in each selected Spa. This international partnership reflects a shared vision: to move the wellness and tourism industry towards more sustainable and responsible luxury.
On 19 September, at the Destination Deluxe Awards in Bangkok, Samuel Chauffaille, Regional Director for South East Asia at Ecocert, will be leading a round table discussion as part of Wellness Day. The theme will be: "Leveraging sustainable development to create market opportunities and drive business growth", highlighting the concrete benefits of sustainable development in the tourism industry.
Towards a New Luxury Model for Tomorrow's Well-Being
Through this partnership, we are affirming that the future of luxury lies in a redefinition of priorities. Tomorrow's luxury will no longer be limited to exclusivity or top-of-the-range products, but will also incorporate values of responsibility, respect for the environment and social commitment. Ecocert is positioning itself as a leader in supporting this transition. Establishments that choose to adopt "Sustainable Wellbeing Center" certification are not just complying with a label; they are actively committing themselves to a more ethical and sustainable industry, meeting the expectations of an increasingly aware and demanding clientele and staff.
Through this project, Ecocert and its partners, such as Destination Deluxe, are not just following trends; they are shaping them, inspiring others to rethink their own practices. This collaboration plays a central role in the evolution of the wellness and tourism sectors, laying the foundations for a more sustainable future. The "Sustainable Wellbeing Center" label goes beyond simple environmental practices; it also encompasses social criteria and product selection criteria (cosmetics, textiles, foodstuffs, detergents, etc.). By integrating these dimensions, Ecocert underlines the importance of a global approach in which environmental and social issues are inseparable. This label embodies a vision of luxury where the well-being of the planet and of individuals is at the heart of priorities, enabling establishments with the label to stand out on the international stage.
