ECOCERT works alongside associations to promote actions revolving around the environment and sustainable development
ECOCERT is sponsor of the PARIS APPEAL Congress II, held by ARTAC on 9th November 2006 at UNESCO.
Theme: "Environment and sustainable health: an international assessment".
The purpose of this international meeting is not only to underline and reinforce the environmental dimension of government health policies, but also to provide, in the form of a ‘memorandum’, concrete measures and recommendations for political use, at French, European and international levels. The congress aims, in effect, not only to improve health as such, but also to preserve that of future generations, hence the notion of ‘sustainable health’. The seminar will revolve around three sessions:
Cancer and other environmental diseases
Protecting the health of children and pregnant women
REACH, the substitution principle and green chemistry
each of which will be followed by a public debate.
ARTAC (Association for Anti-Cancer Therapeutic Research), presided over by Pr. Belpomme, can be distinguished from other associations on two levels: firstly, it directly finances its own researchers and secondly, it specializes in the health/environment theme. Professor Belpomme is author of the famous work "Diseases created by Man".
On the ARTAC site, among the "30 rules to protect against cancer" you will find: Eat organic wherever possible (rule no.17).
Ecocert is founder member of Objectif Bio, alongside BIOCOOP, FNAB, MCBD, MDRGF, Nature & Progrès and SYNABIO
