The stages involved in certification

Understanding the standard regulatory framework

Requesting a personalized annual quotation (free of charge and without commitment)

Please complete and return the Questionnaire for the Pre-Survey, which will be sent to you together with the standard.

Committing to the approach

A contract is drawn up between Ecocert and the applicant. It is renewed by tacit reconduction every year. By signing the contract, the applicant undertakes to submit to the standard requirements and agrees to the audits (2 a year).

Certification audit

The deadline for obtaining an initial appointment is generally three weeks. Ecocert will send you the documents in advance for completion with a view to preparing for the audit. The elements audited are as follows:

Finished product:
puce  Ingredients used
puce  Processes used
puce  Minimum percentages of ingredients of natural and organic origin
puce  Supplier commitment over raw materials delivered
puce  Verification of packaging used
puce  Inspection of labeling

Manufacturer:
puce  Transport and storage of ingredients and finished products
puce  Hygiene and cleaning of manufacturing and packaging zones
puce  Management of energy, discharges and waste (selective sorting and recycling)
puce  Assessment of the global quality system (traceability) and self-inspection

Processing of your file

Following the audit, the certification department processes your file and sends you the audit findings together, if possible, with your licence and your certificates. Any sanctions and derogations are the subject of an anonymous vote by the certification committee, composed of representatives of the industry.

Certificate and licence

The licence certifies that your company has been audited and that its functioning complies with the Ecological and Organic Cosmetics standard. The certificates list all the products that are certified under the two labels: « Ecological cosmetics » and « Ecological and Organic cosmetics »
